Edmund Rice Camps for Kids ( is a non-profit community based organisation that serves the needs of 'at risk' or disadvantaged children aged 7-16 and their families. The organisation does this through a variety of developmentally-focussed recreational and educational respite programs, including camps.
Edmund Rice Camps for Kids also fosters the ongoing personal development of young adult volunteer leaders who act as friends and mentors to the children in the program.
The $16,250 funding from The Lyone Foundation has allowed Edmund Rice Camps to enhance their basic care package for children and teenagers experiencing disadvantage with a ‘big ticket item’ tailored to each child’s primary needs. Smaller-scale activities, such as sports games and arts & crafts are also run, with ongoing positive feedback from all involved.
