Code 9 Foundation
July 24, 2025

The Code 9 Foundation provides a place of support for current and veteran first responders, 000 operators, and their families living with PTSD, depression, anxiety and other mental health conditions that result from their service to the community. Through peer-to-peer ‘catch-up’ nights, coffee meetups and organised events they aim to foster connection, understanding and healing.
The donation of $9,000 from the Lyone Foundation will support the following initiatives:
- A fully funded 5-night camp for 10 teens from first responder families, led by adventure and mental health professionals to build resilience and peer connection.
- A mid-week women’s retreat in Hepburn Springs for four women facing mental health challenges, offering counselling and therapeutic activities in a supportive setting.
The path through mental injury can feel isolating, but Code 9 reminds first responders they’re never alone by offering connection, support, and recovery through safe spaces, family meals, respite weekends, mental health forums, kids’ camps, crisis accommodation, and more.
