Mates4Mates is a dedicated charity committed to supporting current and ex-serving Australian Defence Force members and their families. Through a combination of physical rehabilitation, mental health services, group-based clinical programs, and social connection activities, Mates4Mates offers a holistic approach to recovery and wellbeing. As one of Australia’s leading veterans’ charities, it plays a vital role in helping Defence personnel and their loved ones rebuild their lives after service.

What sets Mates4Mates apart is its deep understanding of the Defence community. Many of the staff come from all areas of the Defence community and understand what it means to serve. They are experienced in helping veterans overcome hurdles and navigate through recovery. Whether it’s overcoming physical injury, managing post-traumatic stress, or adjusting to life after service, Mates4Mates offers trusted guidance and support every step of the way.

The $5,000 donation from the Lyone Foundation will go directly toward supporting the Townsville Veteran & Family Fun Day, scheduled for the end of August. This special event will bring together around 100 veterans and family members, providing a relaxed and inclusive space for connection, reflection, and support. Events like these are more than just a day out, they are crucial for building community and reducing isolation. For many veterans and their families, the opportunity to engage with others who truly understand their experiences can be deeply healing.
