The Lyone Foundation has generously donated $10,000 to Fostering Hope, a charity focused on supporting children in care and families in need. Founded by Lorraine, a foster mum for 26 years, the organisation provides donated goods like clothing and toys to those in need at no cost.
Fostering Hope focuses on three pillars: providing essential items to children in care and families in need through free goods distribution, organising child-centred Fostering Joy events to promote happiness and togetherness, and offering support services to foster carers and kinship and grandparent carers. Notably, 60% of the children in their care are First Nations people.
A key project is a pyjama and underwear drive, aiming to provide new clothing to every child entering care, especially teenagers who lack sufficient clothes. The goal is to supply each new placement with two pairs of pyjamas, a week's worth of underwear and socks, and two bras for older girls. The Lyone Foundation's contribution will greatly impact Fostering Hope's mission of bringing essential items and joy to vulnerable children, fostering a brighter future.
