Not all students find literacy easy, particularly those with dyslexia who face significant challenges in mastering reading and writing. Without proper support during primary school, these difficulties can compound, impacting academic achievement and future employment prospects.
The Lyone Foundation has donated $20,400 to Learning Links, a charity that aims to assist students who face challenges in literacy, particularly those with dyslexia.
Learning Links focuses on supporting children during their primary school years, recognising this as a crucial stage in their development. The organisation employs evidence-based programs and engaging activities to provide personalised, one-on-one support to struggling children. By doing so, they aim to empower these children, fostering a love for reading and building their literacy skills and confidence.
Originally established in 1972 by concerned parents, Learning Links has experienced remarkable growth, now reaching out to over 5,000 students annually since 2010. The donation from the Lyone Foundation will undoubtedly contribute to the organisation's efforts in helping these students overcome literacy challenges and create brighter futures for themselves.
