Operations Flinders exists to transform the lives of young people through quality initiatives such as the outback intervention program. This program provides young men and women who have been identified as being ‘at risk’ with demanding outdoor challenges and ongoing support to encourage the development of self-esteem, motivation, resilience, leadership, teamwork, and responsibility.
Activities undertaken include daily cross-country hikes, abseiling, team-building activities, bush survival skills, navigation, first aid skills, and an understanding of local First Nations cultures. The program takes young men and women aged 14 to 18 out of their everyday environment and helps to rebuild their confidence and people skills through positive experiences and achievements.
In 2022 more than 500 young people participated in Operation Flinders activities. Our $10,000 donation supported one of the 60 teams of young people who participated.
