Story Dogs' mission is to make reading fun for children, spurring them to become confident lifelong readers. Story Dogs partners with primary schools, which identify children who are struggling with their reading, have low self-confidence and are falling behind in their educational journey. 

The program provides weekly one-on-one reading sessions with a gentle dog and its handler. When children read to a dog, the outcomes are amazing! In a non-judgemental and novel setting, the children's focus improves, their literacy skills increase and their confidence soars. The accepting, loving nature of dogs gives this program its magic and helps children relax, open up, try harder and have fun.

The Lyone Foundation donation will enable Story Dogs to fund another 10 dog teams, helping over 100 more young children learn to read as part of the program.
