Harmlessness in women has increased by 75% in the last 10 years. More than 1 in 3 women are turned around from crisis accommodation every night. The Equanimity Project Australia communicates the story of two women who have never met but both are trapped in their own prison. One had her freedom taken away by no other reason than misfortune, and the other was locked in a cycle of mental and physical abuse. To break free and eliminate the repetitive cycle they have endured, they have developed an innovative solutions-focused Project that will abolish the disparity of discrimination and provide an equitable way of life. The Equanimity Project, a ground-breaking Australian first initiative, will partner with individuals, communities, and corporations from across the country to become an important part of the solution in reducing domestic abuse and alleviating homelessness amongst women.
Every $1000 received by The Equanimity Project from the total Lyone foundation funding of $17,832 will be used to support a Survivor of domestic abuse and their carer via the Nurture Carer & Home Care Support program, an integrated housing solution and bespoke training program. Funds will go directly
