The Vinnies Van outreach service provides essential support to people experiencing or at risk of homelessness, offering meals, snacks, blankets, toiletries, hot beverages, companionship, and referrals. On the 19th & 20th of June, COS was honoured to be a part of the19th Sleepout initiative that Vinnies held with the aim of raising awareness and breaking the cycle of homelessness in Australia. The participation of COS volunteers helped raise critical funds for people experiencing or at risk of homelessness through their assistance in catering and other duties. Operating across Greater Sydney and targeted regional areas, the Vans reach highly at-risk communities with volunteers who travel to various locations, often during evening hours.

Our COS Founder and Chairman, Dominique Lyone, has a deeply personal connection to Vinnies. When his family first arrived in Australia, Vinnies provided essential support, immediately organising the delivery of crucial items such as food, clothing, and furniture, highlighting the charity’s significant impact on those in need.
