WINGS of Hope
Date: June 6, 2017
WINGS of Hope, the voice of people bereaved by suicide, is a registered harm prevention charity, providing information, advice, and guidance for people bereaved and impacted by suicide.
According to the ABS 2021 Causes of Death data, 8-9 lives a day are lost to suicide, with 1 in 2 Australians impacted by suicide by the time they turn 25. Sadly, when a person is bereaved by suicide, they can be at greater risk themselves, with grief being complicated and overwhelming.
On the 29th of July, the staff from the Complete Office Supplies (COS) Sydney branch, on behalf of the Lyone Foundation, presented members of the team from WINGS Of Hope with a $12,754 cheque. These funds allow the group to continue supporting those who have lost a loved one by suicide through educational efforts, resources, and events.
The association serves as a constant reminder of the positive force that comes from group support after personal loss.
