Sleapy’s Foundation

The Lyone Foundation proudly donated $10,000 to Sleapy’s Foundation in support of their Bag of Hope program, which provides essential care packs to families of children newly diagnosed with cancer. In an incredible show of partnership, Sleapy’s has committed to match our donation dollar for dollar — doubling the impact and helping more than 50 families in need.

When a child is urgently transferred from a regional area to John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle for cancer treatment, families often have little time to prepare. Many arrive suddenly, far from home, without their usual support networks, and facing immense emotional and financial stress.

The Bag of Hope, valued at over $300, offers immediate relief with practical and comforting items such as taxi and fuel vouchers, toiletries, a diary, essential service contacts, and access to a home-style meal service designed to reduce reliance on fast food. Bags are distributed through Sleapy’s Foundation’s network of hospital social workers across the Lower Hunter region.

Sleapy’s Foundation supports families across regional NSW who are grappling with adversity—whether it’s covering medical equipment, providing technology for a child, or simply paying for transport to treatment. The Bag of Hope is just one of the many ways Sleapy’s steps in to ease the burden and offer a sense of care when it’s needed most.
