The Newborn Intensive Care Foundation is committed to ensuring that sick or premature babies are sent home safely, comfortably and as quickly as possible thanks to new technological developments. One such piece of advanced technology is the Drager Bililux Phototherapy Light System, used to treat high bilirubin levels in sick and premature babies.
This advanced technology will further assist the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Canberra Hospital. Two of these machines required in the facility cost approximately $9,600. With a $10,000 donation from the Lyone Foundation, the use of this technology is now possible.
