The Lyone Foundation's continued support of Orange Sky's Darwin service and funding of $5,000 ensures that people experiencing homelessness and disadvantage in the region are able to access free laundry services, warm showers and genuine connection through conversation.
The Northern Territory experiences the highest rate of homelessness in Australia. Currently, a team of over 50 dedicated volunteers provide six weekly shifts, plus an additional 2 shifts per fortnight, at various locations across the city, from Casuarina in the north to Gray in the south. Orange Sky works alongside other local community service providers at each shift location to ensure that people experiencing homelessness can reliably access several services in one location.
