Miracle Babies Foundation is Australia’s leading not for profit organisation working to improve, support and enhance all lives impacted by a premature or sick birth. Each year, more than 48,000 babies will be born requiring specialised care. All these babies have an after-discharge play and support group connected, welcoming families with babies from discharge to starting school.
The $17,500 donation from the Lyone Foundation will support Miracle Babies by contributing to 6 months of cot side delivery from a dedicated peer support worker 15 hours a week at the hospitals in need of their services. This includes the new flinders hospital in South Australia and the Townsville hospital which cares for more than 800 babies.
