Southern Cross Kids Camp

Southern Cross Kids’ Camps is a charity that interrupts the cycle of abuse and neglect for primary aged kids. The camps are designed to bring fun and laughter back into the lives of children whose everyday existence is less than ideal. Many children attending our camps live in foster care and often move from home to home. A significant number have endured difficult experiences and struggled with multiple issues. Almost all have counsellors or social workers.

The $11,500 donation from the Lyone Foundation will support Southern Cross Kids Camps in We sending 10 or more children to the camp (at a cost of $500 per child). In these camps, each child is assigned a leader called a “Buddy”, ensuring that hope is delivered to every child who attends. With the assistance of 600 dedicated volunteers, 500 children participated in camps a year.
